My glad point farming monk.
Divine Favor: 6+1
Healing Prayers: 12+1+1
Protection Prayers: 8+1 (whatever to get 5 second guardian)
Wilderness Survival: 8
Patient Spirit/Sig of Rejuv
Word of Healing
Dismiss Condition
Guardian
Natural Stride
Distracting Shot
Holy Veil
Cure Hex
I dislike spotless mind because it takes 5 seconds to trigger the first hex removal, by 10 seconds its likely the hex has almost expired anyway. Cure Hex works wonders vs backfire/VoR thats oh so popular, and dshot just has too many applicable uses. You don't need a fortress to stay alive; prekite with IMS and you'll be nearly as invincible.
Patient is better than rejuv in almost every applicable scenario except when you are trying to fake out a good ranger (I wouldn't dare bait the ranger with a guardian or woh just incase he really does get it), but if you lrn2use guardian and prekite whichever you choose doesn't matter a whole lot.
Other fun secondaries to try: /Me for Pdrain/Hexbreaker/Mantra of Concentration, /E for Kinetic Armor, /D for Shield of Force/Pious Concentration.

Huntingtonm, your metaphor was even worse. Next time you try to be original, please don't.

Anon Terror, nice monk build, sadly i don't feel brave enough to run natural stride, so play mainly fortress. Though i might just give this a go.
Do you understand metaphor's - better or worse doesn't come into it, let me guess you also believe they shouldn't be out of context? Let me put it in laymen's terms for you...
Rolling my head on the keyboard will not use skills correctly ergo the desired outcome of defeating an opponent would fail too.
A condom machine will not be used by Roman Catholics ergo the desired outcome of preventing a childbirth would fail too.
I feel slightly dirty from having to explain that. Still, let us not derail this grandiose thread any further.

natsride on a mo is silly, a simple hex like parasitic or wastrel's makes it go poof
dshot is cute but a 2nd hex removal is more reliable

Cytherea, thanks. Though you seem to receive alot of stick for your builds i am impressed that you keep trying to bring your ideas to the masses.
Humility does work better, but without a monk self-survival goes down the pan. Its nice to do unexpected damage and watch warriors run for their lives too
|
oh, that was a dagger to my heart
maybe a less unoriginal and more skill-involving build would receive a better comment.
but ok, if u have to spell things out for you so it becomes "more useful", oh-mighty one:
do not run builds that involve mere button mash on recharge and are plain bad.
better now?
if i were the one who posted the build i wouldnt even bother improving the build.

agree on that one, for obvious reason, apart from the fact that patient spirit and nat stride have a mutual avoidance policy.

Cytherea, natty stride is used as an IMS to kite; I rarely use it to tank unless I'm in panic mode because I'm getting wailed on while my Guardian is on recharge. But oh wait, guardian is bad too right?

Fortress is easy mode. A bad monk who mashes SB+stance when getting hit is effective, a good monk who times it right is just downright unfair. Backfire+VoR is painful in 4v4, atleast Dshot gives you a shot at interrupting it during key situations; a fortress has to survive the duration.
Obviously I understand the metaphor, but a metaphor that doesn't add to the rhetoric effectiveness of your statement can be said to be a bad one.

In seeing that D Shot monk I had -what i thought was- a great idea.
Migraine Mesmer with D shot.
Migraine
Conjure Phantasm
D Shot
Power return? ( The fast casting one that gives them energy)
Power Drain
Drain enchantment
Natural Stride
Ressurection Signet
I think it's 8 in Wilderness, 12 in Illusion, 8 in fast cast, and rest in inspiration.
Then have illusion head piece, with +1 rune. minor rune of fast cast and inspiration.
I love d shot on this build. It means you can knock out WoH constantly for 20 seconds, plus you can use D shot for signets as well, unlike a normal migraine build. This build also has defence in Nat Stride and degen.

Warrior/Any
Strength: 14 (12+2)
Axe Mastery: 13 (12+1)
- Dismember
- Power Attack
- Protector's Strike
- Bull's Strike
- Frenzy
- Rush
- Warrior's Endurance [E]
- Resurrection Signet
It's pretty stupid spam pressure (like a sin or derv), but with bull's strike it can be a little more effective.

This build is actually surprisingly effective, kudos for that. I agree after trying it out, it's stupid spam pressure.

Siphon Speed
Disrupting Stab
Exhausting Assault
Moebius Strike
Death Blossom
Horns of the Ox
Falling Lotus Strike
Resurrection Signet
It's been what I've been running lately on my sin. Siphon isn't the best after it's latest nerf but it's a nice snare+speed boost if you can use it correctly. Disrupting Stab could be replaced with Leaping Mantis Sting for the snare but Dstab+Exhausting is so damn hot.

Never been much of a rit fan but this isn't bad.
Ritualist/Monk
Spawning Power: 12
Restoration Magic: 14
- Mend Body and Soul
- Soothing Memories
- Weapon of Warding
- Weapon of Shadow
- Blind was Mingson
- Life
- Rejuvenation
- Empathic Removal [E]
Pretty good defense, can be super duper annoying against the usual lot in American districts, even more so than the stance monk.

replace siphon with rush and you're good to go. that build is annoying but attacks with no +dmg and nerfed hoto dmg keeps me away.

Rit might have been running Expel. I used to run it on mine in TA, back when my guild did that sort of thing. Not as powerful now because of the increased strength of hexes, but it can do in a pinch.

I've found that Hidden Caltrops isn't a ritualist skill, so I decided to try it out on Assassins.
A/W
Golden Phoenix Strike
HoTO
Falling Spider
Twisting
Way of the Lotus
Hidden
Flail
Rez
It's pretty strong. Walk around targets in between targets to look REALLY PRO.

I ran a woh healer monk with dshot... and its COMPLETELY AWESOME!!!111 xD I felt so powerful, that i can dshot things. Imagine their face, when i was dshoting their rez and backfires, vors, dancing daggers, and other attack-chain sin skills xD
But: Will dshot work on ZB monk? I'd rather play ZB than woh.
However, my recent monk build contains a lyssa's haste and a pious restoration. At 8 wind prayers it rly owns (2 hex remove from pious)
